Congress City Nagoya

Venue

Nagoya University
Geometrically located in the center of Japan, Nagoya City is world-famous for various industries of advanced ceramics, aerospace, automobiles etc. and also known for its historic sites of “Three Great Shoguns” and beautiful castles. Although Nagoya is widely known for its technological industries, it has also become one of the most ecology-conscious cities in Japan. Most recently, it has been chosen as the host for COP10, Convention on Biological Diversity in 2010, which is the following year of R’09 Twin World Congress. We are justly proud of this result since it is an unquestionable achievement of our constant effort to challenge various environmental issues, including waste management and nature protection.

Nagoya University, which celebrates its 70th anniversary of the foundation in 2009, has not only developed as the pre-eminent educational establishment in the area, but has also flourished as one of the foremost national universities representing Japan. R’09 Twin world Congress will be held at Toyoda Auditorium (newly renovated in 2008) and Integrated Building of Nagoya University, as one of its 70th anniversary satellite events.
